Times:5 sessions

Format:Face-to-face

Presented:AIC

(1) Outline of the course

This is a lecture-style training session to learn basic knowledge of AI as an “introduction to AIC basic training session” for those who have never studied AI before. In this workshop, participants will learn the historical background of AI, examples of applications of AI in Japan and overseas, and other basic knowledge of AI, aiming to acquire basic knowledge of AI. For those who wish to learn about AI in detail from the basics, it is recommended to take “Programming for Beginners” in parallel and learn from the basic knowledge of programming. We recommend that you take “Programming for Beginners” in parallel to learn the basics of AI programming.

(2) Contents of each session

Session 1: Guidance, History and Current State of AI 10/12

In the first session, guidance on “AI for Beginners” and the history and current status of AI will be given in the form of lectures. The history of AI will be explained, focusing on the first AI boom, the second AI boom, and the third AI boom, from around 1950 to the present. In addition, “inference and search” and “knowledge representation,” which were themes of the first and second AI booms, and “machine learning” and “deep learning” of the third AI boom will be explained. Recent technological trends in AI, such as large-scale language and image models and generative models, will also be briefly introduced.

Session 2: Relationship between AI and Society 10/19

In the second session, the relationship between AI and society will be discussed in a lecture format, with a brief review of AI technology trends and explanations of specific examples of AI used in society in various fields such as medicine, education, and the arts. The lecture will also briefly explain the methods used for social applications of AI, aiming to promote a conceptual understanding of how AI technology is applied in society and to acquire basic knowledge through learning AI application examples. Detailed explanations of each method will not be provided.

Session 3: External lecturer, AI application cases in industry vol.1 10/26

Undecided (to be decided as soon as the external lecturer is decided)

Session 4: Outside lecturer, AI application cases in industry vol. 2 11/2

Undecided (to be decided as soon as the external lecturer is decided)

Session 5: Conclusion and introduction to other workshops 11/9

The fifth session will be conducted in the form of a lecture on the conclusion and introduction to other seminars. In the summary, a brief review of what has been learned in this class will be given, and the future prospects of AI will also be explained. The lecture will also discuss the relevance of the contents learned so far (machine learning, deep learning, large-scale language and image models, generative models, industrial applications, etc.) to other seminars (Introduction to Machine Learning, Introduction to Deep Learning, Programming for Beginners, Introduction to Generative AI, etc.), and fulfill its role as an “introduction to the basic seminar. The aim is to fulfill its role as an “introduction to the basic training sessions”.
