AY2023 KIOXIA × Hakuhodo × UiPath Collaboration Event Activity Report

On March 16, 2024, we held an event titled AIC Discussion Forum together with representatives from companies in various industries working with AI. This event focused on the themes “Development of AI Thus Far” and “AI in the Future,” and comprised of group discussions and a panel discussion. The in-person event took place in the AIC Lounge on the second floor of the Kyoseikan on Hiyoshi Campus and brought in 14 participating students!

Introduction:

The event started with the representatives of participating companies giving their introductions, after which they talked about their companies and the future implementation of generative AI from the perspective of their respective industries. The audience was shown the range of potential applications and connections that can be made with AI in a presentation that itself used AI mapping tools. The students were also provided an explanation of the event’s discussion themes.

Group discussions:

The students and company representatives were divided into teams for group discussions, and each team was provided whiteboards and displays to use. The discussion topic centered on the questions, “How has AI changed our lives, and how can we live in a future where AI has surpassed humans?” The large whiteboards were filled with writing, and the discussions were so intense that one wondered if the announcements for the event could even be heard.

Panel discussion:

Each team presented to the floor a summary of their discussions. A panel was then held consisting of representatives from each team as well as from each company to delver deeper into the topics they had all exchanged views on. What was impressive was the energy that came from the discussions, such that the program even went past the scheduled time.

Reception:

After the panel discussion, a dinner reception was held with food and beverages. It was a valuable and rare opportunity for everyone to talk freely with those working at top-tier companies. Personally, I had such an enjoyable time that I hardly touched my meal throughout the entire reception.
