Yagami Guidance Session

2019.04.02 written by AIC Office

The AI and Advanced Programming Consortium (AIC) held a guidance session for students from the faculty and graduate school of science and technology at Yagami Campus. Despite only putting up the posters the day before and disseminating emails through the department mailing list to encourage participation, the event was so well-received that over 100 people attended and additional chairs had to be added.。

To kick off the event, Vice-chairman Takahiro Yakoh explained the purpose, background, and current status of AIC since its establishment. He introduced the organization as one involved in advanced programming, including  machine learning, deep learning, data science, and even competitive programming. He also encouraged beginners to participate as students and contestants, and advanced AI users to contribute as speakers and advisors.

Following that, Professor Endo, a member of the steering committee, gave an overview of the workshops and contests scheduled for this academic year. He introduced a series of recommended workshops for various purposes, explained the structure of the website, and went through the course application process.
