Introduction to Fintech for Beginners

Starting this academic year, the “Introduction to Fintech for Beginners” course will be offered in the second half of the spring semester. In recent years, with the development of new technologies such as blockchain, finance technology (or “fintech” for short), has become increasingly important. In this course, Professor Masahiro Fukuhara, who has prior work experience at Mitsubishi UFJ Bank and is also a professor of statistics, shared his real-life experiences and used mathematical formulas to teach students about the technologies used in the investment and banking industries.

In addition, the small class size allowed for a thorough discussion about fintech, as the workshop involved the active participation of each individual student. The course was a fruitful learning experience, as some of the content touched on the various working styles in today’s financial world, thus providing much food for thought for students to consider their place in our rapidly changing world.
