Introduction to Data Engineering – Hands-on with DATABRICKS

Starting this academic year, the “Introduction to Data Engineering―Hands-on with Databricks” course will be offered in the second half of the spring semester. In these current times, in order to utilize big data in business, it is essential to build a data infrastructure for acquiring, formatting, and storing data. In this workshop, students were introduced to case studies of the use of big data in business, and learnt a series of data utilization processes using Databricks, a data utilization platform, through hands-on activities.
During the practical session, close support was provided to each student by lecturers and TAs, creating an environment where even those who were not confident in their level of knowledge could actively participate. In addition to standard classroom learning, the classes were also filled with practical activities to allow students to feel the usefulness of data utilization. Many students commented afterwards that the workshop was a well-rounded, fulfilling experience.
