AI and Advanced Programming Consortium (AIC) held its first guidance session at Hiyoshi Campus. The event began with an address by Keio University President  Kohei Itoh, where he emphasized that skilled AI personnel are in great demand in today’s society and strongly called for participation in this consortium. When he asked the students in attendance which faculty they belonged to, he found that there were students not only from the Faculty of Science and Technology, but also from the School of Medicine, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Business and Commerce, the Faculty of Letters, among others, reaffirming the high level of interest in the consortium throughout the university.

Following Professor Yakoh’s talk, KPMG Consulting CEO Shigeru Shiina began his lecture titled, “AI Basics & AI Business Building.” He said that he wanted to develop skilled personnel who understand what AI is capable of today and who possess innovative business ideas involving AI. He explained that participants would be divided into teams and that the session would involve group work. Some in the audience hoped to become consultants in the future, and the discussion was lively.

Finally, Professor Endo gave a detailed explanation of the workshops and contests currently being planned. He went through the application process while navigating the AIC website. Student response was enthusiastic, and many applications were received during the guidance session.
